Independent Boutique shopping – busting some myths!
Some people I speak to think that shopping in independent boutiques is expensive. Now, don’t get me wrong, some boutiques are definitely in the designer price tag, but not Just g Boutique.
I’ve been doing some research to compare my autumn goodies against some high street shops. I enjoy a browse in Topshop and two of my designers have appeared in their boutique section of the Oxford Street store. Today I found this little knit with hearts on it.
It’s priced at £38 and is made from an acrylic /polyester / cotton mix (only 39% cotton).
At Just g Boutique, I have a similar heart motif knit in stock – they are £44 and 100% cotton:
Let’s compare
When you add on the £4 postage with Topshop and their 4 day delivery timescale versus my free postage in the UK for 2 day delivery, the jumper at Just g is only £2 more expensive.
Not bad given it’s all natural fibers and there’s only 4 grey and 4 black in Edinburgh so you’re less likely to bump into someone wearing it.
Conclusion about independent shopping
You can stay within your high street budget.
You can find latest trends.
You can buy something that only a few people will have rather than hundreds.
You’re supporting your local economy, therefore keeping choice and variety for shoppers!
Perhaps next time you’re on the high street, you might pop into your local indie boutique and see what they have on offer – we may just surprise you!
Be different this autumn.
Happy shopping!
