G is for… glorious autumn colours
As summer draws to a close and the landscape embraces autumn, it’s also time for us to change our wardrobes. Not only do we need to introduce practical clothing (knits, coats, hats, gloves and scarves), we should be wearing colours that are more suited to the season. Time for a glorious autumn colour palette!
Neutrals with a burst of colour
The colour palette for this autumn is largely neutral with a blast of colour with the monochrome trend continuing. The hues are browns and greys with colour coming from greens, blues and reds.
The Pantone Colour Institute report illustrates the colours perfectly:
Spring greens move into emeralds and yellow-toned greens. Blues are bold, with a purple tone also appearing, and work well with the greens. Reds are either claret or coral bringing brightness to the darker days. Choose greys and browns as alternatives to black this season – they can be much more flattering than black for many skin tones.
Which colours for you?
If you’ve warm toned skin, you should choose more yellows, oranges, browns, yellow-greens, ivorys, and warm reds. If you’re a cool-toned girl, choose blues, greens, pinks, purples, blue-greens, magentas, and true “blue-based” reds.
At Just g Boutique, we’ve got garments in all of these colours to bring your wardrobe up-to-date.
Remember that you can use accessories to bring a dash of colour if you prefer to stick to a darker palette.
Pop by the store and try out these autumn tones.
